Futsal is a game played with a heavier, smaller ball (less bouncing) than a typical soccer ball. The game is played on a hard court, without walls. There are no walls to keep the ball in play. It’s a technically demanding, fast paced game that improves players touch and ball control on a quick surface. We love to have our younger players experience futsal, as the game is similar to how a soccer ball behaves on artificial turf, which many players will be playing on more often as they get older.
Each session is 1 hour per age group. See table below for which hour each age group is assigned.
After being assigned to a certain court upon arrival (there will be 3 courts playing simultaneously per session) players will do 10-15 minutes of technical footskills, and then about 40-45 minutes of play. Each session is supervised by 3RSC Coaching Staff and Directors. Players must wear flat soled shoes (indoor soccer shoes recommended) and shin guards covered by socks. Futsal balls will be supplied by the club, no need to bring a soccer ball.
Space is limited to 45 players per session (15 per court) and is first come, first serve. Cost is $85 for the Winter Futsal session. Registration is open for current 3RSC players at first, then opened later in December to the general public if spots are still available.
There are no teams/standings/uniforms for our winter futsal program. This is an opportunity for our players to get extra touches and gameplay during their offseason.
Outside food/drink is not allowed in Numerica Pavillion.
